Porsche Centre Melbourne History
The Porsche brand in Australia is shaped by over 65 years of industry knowledge, continuous development and the endless passion for Porsche sports cars.
Australian pump manufacturer Norman Hamilton brought the first Porsche to Australia in 1951, thus creating Porsche’s very first right-hand drive market and one of its first export territories.
Since those humble beginnings, Porsche has had a number of inner Melbourne homes and name changes, however the passion, as well as many of the sales, service and parts teams have remained. Impressively, of the estimated 25,000 Porsche’s delivered from the factory to Australia, most are still driving on Australian roads.
An important ingredient of Porsche Centre Melbourne's success is the long term relationship we create with our customers. Thanks to our customers, Porsche has now been established in Melbourne for over 60 years - making it one of the oldest Porsche dealerships outside of Germany.
Today, Porsche Centre Melbourne is still home to many owners whose association with the dealership dates as far back as the late 1950s and serves as a testament to the loyalty and dedication that keep our clients satisfied.
